Content Change Monitoring
Detect when web page content changes. Monitor competitor pricing, track feature updates, or catch unauthorized edits.
Content change monitoring alerts you when the text on a monitored page differs from a stored baseline. Point it at a competitor's pricing page, a feature changelog, or your own site, get notified on Slack, email, or Discord when content changes. Scoped to specific page elements with CSS selectors, with adjustable sensitivity to filter out minor formatting changes.
How it works
Add a URL, Enter the page you want to monitor for content changes.
Set a CSS selector (optional), Scope monitoring to a specific element like a pricing table or feature list. Leave empty to monitor the full page.
Save your first snapshot, The first check captures a baseline. All future checks compare against this.
Get alerted on changes, When content changes beyond your sensitivity threshold, we create an incident and notify you on your alert channels.
Common use cases
Defacement detection, Add your own pages. If content changes unexpectedly, you'll know within your check interval, not when a customer reports it.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a content change?
Any difference between the current page text and the stored baseline. You can set a sensitivity threshold (e.g., 'only alert if more than 5% of content changed') to ignore minor formatting differences. CSS selectors also help, scope to a specific element and ignore the rest of the page.
Can I monitor password-protected pages or JavaScript-rendered content?
Content change monitoring fetches static HTML. Pages behind a login wall or that render content entirely via JavaScript will not work. We recommend targeting public pages, competitor pricing, public changelogs, marketing pages.
How is this different from uptime monitoring?
Uptime monitoring tells you if a page is up or down, it checks the HTTP status code. Content change monitoring tells you if the page content changed, it compares the actual text. A page can return 200 OK while its content has been defaced or updated. Content change monitoring catches what uptime checks miss.
